The Story Behind the Name
In memoriam 1241: Batu Khan led a 90,000 strong Mongol army against the Hungarian Kingdom, leaving destruction and death in their wake. On April 11, 1241, King Béla IV engaged in a valiant battle against the Mongols at Muhi, resulting in a defeat. During the years of the Tatar invasion, half of the Hungarian Kingdom's population was lost. This chili sauce commemorates the victims of this era.
